We updated to a new version of “CheckUser” extension that required editing of the database tables. Not realizing it, I forgot to do it for the other wikis as well. All wikis should now be editable. Sorry for the long long delay!

Following suit with the English Wiki’s recent milestone, our German Battlestar Wiki has reached — and quickly surpassed — 700 articles. Its 700th article is on the Zeusuda, a ship in the Fleet.

The rapid advancements are primarily by Enabran’s hand, who has had help from CC-Mel, Azrael, and others! So if you’d like to contribute, venture into the fray! :D

While I’m a little late in announcing this, I’d like to formally announce that Enabran is our newest administrator on our German Battlestar Wiki!

Please drop by his user talk page and congratulate him for his hard work! He’s been a driving force on the German Wiki as of late and deserves recognition for his hard work on the project!

So say we all!

Thanks to the hard work of our contributors to the German Battlestar Wiki, we’ve passed our 666th article! Well on our way to 1000 articles in German!

The German Wiki’s 666th article is on the flattop ship.

Please cheer them on — or, if you are fluent in both English and German, help them out!

The German Battlestar Wiki has hit 500 articles!

The 500th article is Der Tempel der Fünf, which is the The Temple of Five seen in the third season episodes “The Eye of Jupiter” and “Rapture”.

As I’ve mentioned in previous entries, our German-language edition is closing in on 500 articles. It’s only 7 articles away from hitting the goal as I write this, and it’s a good feeling to me, and I hope to our contributors and visitors as well.

As the second-largest Wiki in the Battlestar Wiki network, I’m happy in the work that our friends from and others have put into the wiki, and look forward to announcing when they’ve hit the 500th article. :-)

Awesome job guys and gals!

The English Battlestar Wiki has hit 2,500 articles!

The 2,500th article to grace the wiki is Comp-Tel Ship, an article on the ship that Chameleon (Fred Astaire) mentions in the memorable Original Series episode, “The Man with Nine Lives”!

The runner up was Omega (RH), an article on the character in the Richard Hatch continuation novelizations.

In addition, there are two wikis close to hitting new marks:

 • Our French Wiki is only 7 articles away from hitting 100!
 • Our German Wiki is only 26 articles away from hitting 500!

So say we all!

In the event that this hasn’t been noticed yet, I’d just like to point out that the English Battlestar Wiki is eighteen articles away from 2,500.

Additionally, our second-largest Wiki, the German Battlestar Wiki is closing on 49 articles shy of its 500th article as well.

While I’m one to place emphasis on quality over quantity, I’d like to point out that at least 95% of the articles on both wikis are of quality. Admittedly, some are better than others and have been recognized as such, but still, overall, both Wikis are strong in the quality field: which grows with the quantity of offerings on both wikis.

I can only speak for myself when I say I’m very pleased with the way things have turned out; in my wildest dreams, I’ve never thought we’d be this successful and be (as of this writing) the 61,000th largest website on the net, rivaling such great scifi websites as TrekToday, TrekWeb,, and, hell, even the “Wikipedia” killer, Citizendium.

Jumpin’ Lords of Kobol. Wow-wee! :-)

So say we all!

P.S. Yeah, I rounded the number slightly. Sue me.

P.S.S. (12:47 PM ET) Yeah, apparently the number is 59,834; the number when I made this blog post was 61,230-something. Who knew?
