There is a small article on Wikis on the Times Online website. It’s a brief blurb where we, in addition to Wookieepedia and Memory-Alpha, are mentioned.

Check it out.

CULT CLASSICS

The massive success of Wikipedia has encouraged the creation of a slew of similar, but far more specialised, wiki-style web encyclopaedias. However, among those best served by this cyberspace development are the lovers of American sci-fi. For Star Wars fanatics, there is Wookieepedia, with more than 50,000 articles, and regularly amusing Quotes of the Day. The Battlestar Wiki plays to fans of the original and reimagined Battlestar Galactica series, while Memory Alpha covers Star Trek with “the most definitive, accurate, and accessible encyclopaedia and reference” available. starwars.wikia.com en.battlestarwiki.org memory-alpha.org

Maybe you or Shane could keep an eye on the stats to see whether we’re getting any visitors from timesonline.co.uk?

It’d be nice if it was in print as well.

I’m honestly a bit geeked out by the fact that we’ve been recognized.

Lately, we’ve been recognized by some pretty cool sites; it’s not that there’s been a flood of recognition, but wherever we’ve been mentioned, it seems to be quality.

SyFy Portal, Times Online, and a few others…

All in all, it’s really a testament to everyone who’s contributed to the Wiki since its inception. So everyone should be pleased, at least I think so.

As for the stats… we haven’t enabled Webalizer for the battlestarwiki.org domain range. However, there are logs at the server level from the Apache software which we can always reference… not that I care to dig through those files though. LOL

Yes, I’ve heard of grep. :-)

I’m far too lazy for that sort of thing, though. :-P

    Too lazy for grep… ^^

Anyway, I don’t know how your stats program works (I’ve forgotten its name already), but I know for a fact that AWStat reads the Apache logs and bases its stats on that. Your stat prog might work similarly.

Webalizer goes through Apache and other logfiles as well.

I have it set to generate results every Sunday.
