You can, that is if you want it to run on the Battlestar Wiki. Today I submitted the family file for the “Python Wikipedia Robot Framework” project which allows Python scripts to run as automated tasks on the wiki. As these things are semi or fully automatic, they fall under the [[BW:BOT|bot]] project and are subject to approval before getting a “bot flag”. The “bot flag” allows the username “changes” not shown by default. This policy covers all wikis, and not just the English wiki.

A bot can be designed just for one language or several. And there are many types of lanuguages bots can be code in. They most common is perl and python, however bots can be coded out of anything.

Have an idea for a bot? Bring it up on the [[BW:BOT|bot page]].
